Let me tell you how my weekend was, gadgetly. Now you can stop the chirping, I know that there is no one else reading my blog, your incessant twittering really gets annoying...as well as the chittering sound you make. Also I noticed you had 373 people following you on Twitter and I only have 2, what could you be Twittering about that is so interesting.
So my really cool phone, BB Torch 9800, started acting up. The lock screen button was binding and causing the screen to lock in the most in-opportune moments. Then my lovely wife comes over to see something on my computer and accidently trips on the power cord of my smartphone. My phone then flies off coffee tables like being launched by a 12th century catapult. It falls at the great, awesome distance of 20 inches on the floor. As you can see of course this would cause my lock screen button to completely bind and make my phone in-operable. (if you sense a little sarcasm in my tone you need to read the last sentence again because there was a lot of sarcasm.)
Well today at work I call AT&T to talk about getting my phone fixed under warranty. After going through the 24 step phone tree, feeling like I just went through 2 AA programs, I was able to finally talk to the tier one tech support. After letting her know what happened, re-telling the story that the smartphone came with the button bound and that the lock screen feature is making it impossible to use my phone. She takes me through another 12 step program to wipe the OS and contents off my device and download the updated OS. So far it has been a 57 min phone call three 12 step programs, I am sober but my phone is still broken. at that point she sending me to Tier 2 tech support. Then we redo the last 12 step program and add another 3 steps to make sure my phone is sober. My phone ends up sober, but still not fixed. At 1 hour and 32 minutes from when I started talking to tech support the representative tells me to take the phone to the service center in order to get it replaced for like for like. Meaning I will get an0ther Blackberry Torch.
So I did just that, explained to the technician behind the counter what had happened. He saw that I had the 36 step coin and did not put me thru another meeting. So now I have new phone that I need to update, but a new phone none the less.
So what do you think my little Cricket, you think that was a good story?
Well even if you did not I do have to say AT&T really came through and even though I spent a total of 2 hours working to get my phone, it was worth it cause I did not have $299 needed to buy a new phone. Also I ended up with this story for my Cricket.
Until tomorrow.
Chirp
